Originally from Aarhus, in Denmark, the author Nete Nentvig is one of a select group of cocktail mixologists known as the “Old School Bartenders” of Miami beach. A true veteran of cocktail mixology, brought up within the business.

She honed her skills and perfected her art tending the bar at the world renowned Clevelander hotel on Ocean Drive, on South Beach for more than one decade. Where, in addition to creating cocktails for the glitterati and celebrity clientele of Miami’s most famous beach, she also shared the responsibility of training new bartenders for the hotel.

Sharing her expertise and encyclopedic knowledge of mixology with others, eventually provided her with the inspiration to ”put pen to paper” and illustrate the structure used by real industry pros to quickly learn and memorize hundreds of recipes.

In addition to her passion for cocktail history and always looking for ways to make the way we learn easier, Nete works with creative mediums; design and photography. Nete herself has taken all photographs in South Beach Cocktails; to see more of her work, click here.

Nete also holds a patent for a new and improved bottle opener inspired by “beating Murphy’s law” & not being able to find a sufficient quality opener herself while in the trenches behind the bar. We are currently working on the development of Nete’s designs. Once they are available, we will be adding them to our store.
